Market Participant Update: August/September 2026

The Austrian rail market saw several changes among rail carriers in August/September 2026.

Adesso Rail (AT) has received a safety certificate from ERA for Austria, Germany, and Italy—and is also authorized to operate on the ÖBB Infrastructure network starting October 1. The Vienna-based rail carrier specializes in automotive and intermodal transport.
Bahnlogistik24 (DE) has now alsosigned an infrastructure usage agreement with ÖBB Infrastructure.
Medway Austria (AT) has received a traffic permit from the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Mobility, and Infrastructure for freight transport in Austria.
Silverstar Railways (AT) has now also received a safety certificate from ERA for Austria and Germany.
