Passenger rights (apf)

Schienen-Control is both the regulatory authority for rail transport and the arbitration body for passenger rights in Austria.

In its role as an arbitration body, the Agency for Passenger Rights (apf) mediates in disputes between travelers and the respective rail, bus, ship, or airline company. It ensures that passengers can assert their rights quickly, easily, free of charge, and without commission. The apf is a service center of the Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility, and Infrastructure (BMIMI) and is based as a department within Schienen-Control .
