Federal government appoints new Schienen-Control
The Council of Ministers appoints Dr. Andreas Huber,Mag. Sylvia Leodolter, andMag. Dr.Nicola Gatternig-Spitzy as new members of the Schienen-Control .
The members and alternate members of the Schienen-Control , an independent administrative authority based at Schienen-Control , were appointed by the federal government on October 5, 2022, in accordance with the Railway Act, on the recommendation of Leonore Gewessler, BA, Federal Minister for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation, and Technology.
Mag. Sylvia Leodolter (AK Vienna) will join the Schienen-Control as a new member. Dr. Andreas Huber (Vienna Administrative Court) and Mag. Dr. Nicola Gatternig-Spitzy (ALSTOM Transportation Austria GmbH) will take on roles as substitute members until the end of the Schienen-Control 's term of office on December 31, 2026.
Together with the members who were already active in the previous term of office, Dr. Robert Streller (Vienna Regional Court for ZRS), Dr. Karl-Johann Hartig (ÖVG), and substitute member Mag. Norbert Fürst (E-Control), the newly appointed persons are responsible for monitoring competition in the rail transport market. Accordingly, they review non-discriminatory access to railway infrastructure and the fees charged for this in accordance with the Railway Act.
The Schienen-Control currently consists of the following members for the term ending December 31, 2026:
